Once upon a Halloween night, in the small town of Skellington, lived an old woman named Mrs. Grantham. Famous for her garden of orange pumpkin lanterns, Mrs. Grantham was never seen without her quintessential black cat, Boo, lounging around her feet.
The children of Skellington spoke in whispers about tickling, peculiar tales related to Mrs. Grantham and Boo. The tales featured bewitched pumpkin pie and a talking cat, but most thought it was plain Halloween gossip, brushing it away with a scoff.
The story goes that on Halloween, Mrs. Grantham would bake a magical pumpkin pie, offering it to anyone brave enough to knock on her door. Legend had it, those who tasted it could speak to animals for one mystical night–a claim tested by many but proved by none.
This Halloween, young Timmy, a notorious skeptic, determined to debunk this tale, bravely knocked on Mrs. Grantham’s door. Taking a bite of pumpkin pie, he waited for the magic to happen.
To everyone’s surprise, Timmy laughed loudly, “It’s all bunkum” just as Boo meowed “Well, not everyone appreciates good conversation.”
Ever since that day, people pass by Mrs. Grantham’s house chuckling. No one knows if the pie is cursed or if Boo really can talk–or if Timmy simply knows how to meow!
