One fateful Halloween, young Tommy decided to trick-or-treat alone for the first time. With utmost courage, he ventured into the weathered mansion at 13 Elm Street, infamous in tales of ghosts and ghouls. Jittery but determined, Tommy knocked.
As the grand old door creaked open, a towering figure appeared, enveloped in shadow. Tommy’s heart pounded, but he chirped, “Trick-or-treat!” His voice echoed eerily through the grand foyer.
Almost instantly, a brimming bucket of candy clattered onto the stone path, followed by the figure’s booming laughter. Then, to Tommy’s astonishment, the figure revealed itself — not a ghost, but our friendly postman, Mr. Jenkins, indulging in the Halloween spirit.
Relieved and now with a bag bulging with candy, Tommy skipped happily home. This Halloween was one he’d never forget, not for spine-tingling chills, haunted mansions, or even the mounds of candy … but for the surprise that sometimes, a twist can turn a haunted tale into a rather jolly one!
