Once upon a chuckling moonlit Halloween in the small town of Ghoulsville, there lived an eccentric grandpa named Whittaker Picklebump. Whittaker loved creating extravagantly artistic jack-o’-lanterns for each year’s Halloween festivities and was zealously protective of them.
However, every Halloween, his precious pumpkin creations mysteriously vanished. It troubled Whittaker for years, yet he still continued his artistry with unbroken spirits.
This Halloween, he decided to finally unveil the mystery. He stayed up late, hiding, watching over his glowing pumpkin patch. As the clock struck midnight, he heard creaking noises.
To his astonishment, he saw his pumpkins had sprung to life! They levered themselves up with viney limbs, turning their grinning faces toward Whittaker. He chuckled, a little nervously – the pumpkins of Ghoulsville were visiting each other, exchanging stories of their creator!
Whittaker’s surprise turned into mirth, “Well, well! Jack-o’-lanterns obviously have more to do on Halloween than look pretty!” He shook his head in delightful wonder. From then on, he didn’t mind his mysteriously vanishing pumpkins.
In the very definition of a captivating plot twist, all of Ghoulsville agreed that the parade of the pumpkins, visiting each other, exchanging stories, was exactly how Halloween should be celebrated!
