Deep into the night, in the depths of the old, abandoned Barley Manor was, strangely enough, an illuminated Jack-O’-Lantern. The pumpkin’s eerie glow flickered, adding an unsettling ambiance to the decrepit mansion.
Greg and Millie, the brash and curious neighborhood kids, felt drawn to the pumpkin’s unlikely existence. With a throbbing mixture of fear and excitement, they ventured into the mansion, listening to the tales of the whispered ghosts.
The duo tiptoed up the creaky wooden steps, approaching the Jack-O’-Lantern. Their hearts pounded harder than a drum, their eyes wide and anxious. As they reached the pumpkin, they found an aged, scrawled note besides it which read, “Turn me around.”
A quivering hand, Greg turned the pumpkin around. Carved at the back of the squash was a face, a jarring face. It was their own face, a perfect replica of Greg and Millie combined!
The realization hit them; the ghosts knew of their arrival. Their terror was cut short when suddenly, Halloween candy exploded all around them. A laughter echoed throughout the mansion: “Happy Halloween, trespassers!”
And that was the tale of how their most frightening Halloween turned into their most memorable one!
