“The Haunted Halloween Hoax: A Spooky Surprise at the Mystery Mansion”

“Once upon a Halloween night, eight-year-old Billy decided to dress up as a zombie. His mom, adept at costume crafting, helped create a ghoulish ensemble that would make any Hollywood makeup artist proud.

After hours of trick-or-treating around the block, Billy stumbled upon a dark, spooky mansion. The mansion, void of decorations, had a rumor of housing the ghost of old Mr. Johnson.

Surveying the mansion, Billy bravely climbed the creaking steps and knocked. The sound echoed inside, no candy bowl insight. He turned to leave when the door groaned open revealing an elderly woman holding a bowl full of toffees.

Excited, Billy said “Trick or treat!” The woman smiled revealing toothless gums. As she stretched her hand to give him the toffees, he noticed her attire: the same tattered clothes he was wearing!

Seeing a puzzled expression on his face, the old woman laughed heartily and said, “Oh, darling, old Mrs. Johnson just loves Halloween!”. The realization dawned on Billy who bolted down the stairs, dropping his candy bag, a fun story to tell for years.

The twist? The ‘spooky’ mansion remained vacant for years after Mr. Johnson’s death. There was no Mrs. Johnson!
