Every Halloween, the town of Littleport looks forward to Mrs. Grayson’s famous pumpkin pie. It was a delight as sweet as the good-hearted old widow herself. But rumor had it that she used a secret ingredient; something not of this world.
This year, a group of plucky youngsters decided to uncover Mrs. Grayson’s mystery. They crept into her house under the thin Halloween moonlight. Inside, cobweb-draped ghosts and giggling goblins adorned every corner— a spooky yet charming tribute to the season. And there, on her kitchen table, sat that famous pie, filling the air with its hypnotic aroma.
Jimmy, the bravest amongst the group, reached for the pie. But as his finger touched the crust, something strange happened – the pie moved! Surprised, they all watched as it unfolded into a large, grinning pumpkin. It was the secret ingredient all along! The town gossips were right; it really was something not of this world.
Just then, Mrs. Grayson walked in, grinning ear to ear. “Trick or Treat?” she asked. Shocked, they all answered in unison, “Definitely trick!” Their laughter echoed into the silent night, joining the spectral choir of Halloween.
