“Ephemeral Illusions: The Invisible Ghost of Spookville”

Once upon a Halloween night in the quiet town of Spookville, within a old creaky mansion lived a lonely ghost named Wally. Now, unlike typical ghosts, Wally was friendly, but his spectral form scared everyone away. So, each Halloween, he would try his best to fit in. He would dust the cobwebs off, pull a pumpkin grin, and hand out candy to make the children’s visits pleasant.

This Halloween, Wally decided to be extra brave. Putting his translucency to good use, he dressed up as the Invisible Man. As the sun set, trick or treaters started showing up at the mansion. They would take a candy, a little frightened but mostly unfazed. Yet, the rumours of an actual ‘Invisible Man’ handing out candy started to spread like wildfire. The town was thrilled, making Wally the main attraction.

When the moon was high, the Mayor awarded Wally for the ‘best costume’. As Wally floated forward to receive his award, his foot hit a witch’s broom, causing him to lose balance and fall. In the ensuing gasp, his bandages unfurled and out tumbled a good-natured, very surprised, and quite visible ghost.

“It’s the ghost, the ghost of the mansion!” someone shouted. Wally gave an embarrassed ghostly chuckle and the town erupted in cheer. They had found a new friend and Wally had found the joy of acceptance, the feeling sure was more delicious than any Halloween candy.
