Once upon a spooky Halloween night, a creepy old mansion sat nestled behind a tangle of overgrown vines, its windows staring blankly like the eyes of a long-dead skeleton. This was ‘The Wailing House,’ famed for its chilling unending screams that tormented the sleepy town.
Curious and undaunted, Jack, the brave town typist, decided to investigate. With a flickering lantern casting ghoulish shadows on peeling wallpaper, he ventured inside. Suddenly, a bloodcurdling wail filled the air, chilling Jack to his bones!
He followed the eerie sound to the basement where he found an antique phonograph, its crackling tune echoing throughout the house. To Jack’s amazement, the song was a hit from the ’70s, “Stayin’ Alive,” being played at an incredibly slow speed!
The “haunting wails” were, in fact, the Bee Gees singing “Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive” in ultra-slow-motion! Beside the phonograph lay a note: “Trick or Treat! Finders keepers!” The culprit? The merry pranksters, the Johnson twins!
The townsfolk’s fear turned into unrestrained laughter when Jack relayed his discovery. Thus, the Halloween of that year not only brought spine-shivering thrills but also a memorable chuckle. From then on, every Halloween, the “Wailing House” played “Stayin’ Alive,” and citizens came far and wide, not for a fright, but for a delightful Halloween laugh!
