In the quaint town of Spooksburg, known for its annual Halloween Bash, lived a deer-eyed boy, Timmy, who was notorious for his mischievous pranks. This Halloween was no exception as Timmy was more than ready with perhaps his most ambitious plan yet, to prank the notoriously grumpy Old Man Jenkins.
Armed with his spoilt-milk-filled super soaker and an eerie Jack-o’-lantern, he crept up to the old man’s dilapidated house. His heart pounding like a drum, he fired the soaker into the mailbox, the horrid smell spreading instantly. He then placed the pumpkin on the doormat, its gruesome face grinning menacingly.
He fled away and hid behind a nearby hedge, quivering with anticipation. The front door creaked open, and a dark figure emerged. Timmy could just make out the contours of Jenkins’ scowling face. Screams of terror filled the air, and Timmy doubled over with gleeful laughter. Victory, he thought.
But then, to his utter surprise, the Jack-o’-lantern suddenly came to life and turned its glowing eyes towards him. It was the Old Man Jenkins’ turn to laugh, revealing his own cunning set up of the remote-controlled haunted pumpkin. “Careful, boy,” he chuckled, “Halloween is the haunted season, after all!”
