“The Tale of Ghostlight Manor: Tricks, Treats, and Feline Feasts”

On a cold Halloween night, in an old town full of stories, stood a Victorian mansion known as the Ghostlight Manor. It was said to be the dwelling place of an old witch named Mabel, who had a peculiar fondness for orange-striped cats.

One evening, three mischievous children—Molly, Billy, and Jack—decided to visit Ghostlight Manor to see if the tales were true. Moving slowly, they approached the eerie house, their hearts pounding with fear and excitement. All was silent except for the distant hoots of an owl and the whispers of the wind.

Scared but undeterred, they tiptoed inside. They roamed from room to room, their flashlights reflecting off dusty mirrors and cobweb-draped chandeliers, until suddenly, a reedy voice echoed through the seemingly abandoned manor, “Would you like some candy?”.

They spun around to see… Mabel, not as a grotesque, menacing creature they had heard about, but an elderly woman, sweet and welcoming, with a tray of homemade candy. With relief and laughter, they accepted, realising the true ‘spirit’ of Halloween – a mix of harmless pranks, shared fears, and warm-hearted goofiness.

At that moment, behind Mabel, strolled in a dozen orange-striped cats, each wearing a witch’s hat. Mabel chuckled, “Oh, did I forget to mention? It’s their favorite holiday too.”
