Once upon a time, a sweet little town named Bethville was festooned for the annual Halloween hoedown. This year, peculiar things began to transpire. Just as the moon began to grin in the starlit sky, jack-o’-lanterns started to quake in fright.
Curiously, plump pumpkin pies flipped themselves out of windows and shadows muttered nameless, eerie lullabies. The locals, known for their courage, chuckled and attributed the queer happenings to the Halloween charm.
User-friendly ghosts from the town’s haunted mansion slipped into the party, unnoticed, amidst the costumed crowd. They floated around, nipping at candied apples, bobbing punches, and flipping through vinyl records, their spectral faces mirroring sheer delight.
At the stroke of midnight, the DJ started playing the last song, the town’s traditional, ‘Goodnight Jamboree’. Suddenly, Bethville heard the most heartwarming, ghostly harmony enveloping the rhyme. Pausing in awe, people saw the rapturous spirits, no longer invisible, singing heartily along.
From that Halloween night, Bethville’s annual bash became the ‘Haunted Hoedown’, celebrating their spooky harmonizing guests. The real surprise? The ghouls merely wanted to join in the fun, with their ghastly, delightful music, forever changing Bethville’s Halloween to a heartily haunted sing along!
