Title: “The Haunted House’s Sweet Treats and Sour Tricks”

As a golden October sunset gave way to a ghoulish night, young Toby, an avid trick-or-treater, decided on an audacious adventure: to knock on the door of the one house all other kids avoided – the haunted house at the end of the road.

The house, draped in shadows and a ghostly silence, had long been a source of whispered tales and nightmares. With heart pounding like a witch’s drum, Toby gathered his bravery, marched up the creaky wooden steps and knocked.

To his surprise, the door groaned open to reveal an old woman. Wrinkled, with a goblin-like smile and eyes twinkling with mischief, she dropped a candy in his bucket with a hint of a grin and said, “Beware, sweet treats come with sour tricks.”

Toby sprinted away, his exhilarating courage replaced by a cold slither of fear. Hours later as he emptied his candy loot, he found a piece of candy unlike the rest- a shining golden wrapper. Inside was a small note that read, ‘One free pass – Live a Day in the Future’.

With a gasp, Toby looked up at the mirror, and instead of his own reflection, he saw an older version of himself, the ghost of a day yet to come. After all, the old woman was right, sweet treats did come with sour tricks!
