Once upon a frightful Halloween night, the Thompson twins, Jack and Jill, decided to visit the old, ramshackle manor at the end of their street. Its doors creaked eerily as they gingerly pushed them open. Cobwebs hung everywhere and dust swirled in the moonlight.
“Hello?”, they called in unison, their voices echoing back at them. To their shock, ghostly whispers filled the room, “Do your chores, or forever trapped be!” Sending shivers down their spines, they dashed back home.
The next morning, they found themselves still in the ghastly manor. Impossible! When they recalled the eerie whisper, they realized the real reason for their ordeal. So off they started tidying up the manor. They dusted, swept, and tidied up the whole manor until it sparkled.
Surprisingly, when they turned around, they found themselves back in their own cheerful bedroom, their mother standing at the door, bemused by their uncharacteristic cleanliness spree. It turns out; the haunted house was just an inventive scare tactic from their clever parents to get them to do their chores.
And that, dear reader, is the twisted tale of the not-so-haunted manor. Remember, always do your chores, or else you might find yourself trapped in your own Halloween nightmare!
