Once upon a haunted Halloween night, in the ghastly Broome Street of old New York city, the Baker’s Mansion gasped under the eerie full moon, its windows like dead eyes staring into oblivion.
The mansion was the heart of hushed whispers and spine-chilling tales spun by the elderly, who often warned the non-believers, ‘Beware the Baker’s Ghost, dear children.’ The restless ghost of Mortimer Baker was rumored to lurk in the mansion, in pursuit of the precious pocket watch he misplaced during his tragic demise.
This Halloween, three curious buddies, Aiden, Max, and Lucy, decided to discover the truth. With trembling hearts and flashlights as their sword, they bravely breached the mansion’s creepy confines just when the clock struck twelve. Suddenly, they saw an eerily glowing phantom pocket watch float across the room and vanish into the ancient fireplace.
Seizing their courage, they plunged their hands into the ashes and pulled out the watch, now ordinary and certainly not glowing.
However, instead of a ghostly howl of torment, they heard jolly laughter fill the house. Mortimer’s ghost, now rid of his concerns, had finally found peace, and ghostly merriness replaced the former dread.
‘Terribly sorry for the spook, children!’ Mortimer’s voice echoed, ‘You may keep the timepiece, consider it a ‘Boo-tiful’ Halloween surprise!.’
