It was the coldest night of October, the moon hung high in the sky like a glaring eye. In the heart of Baileyville, was “The Haunted Mansion,” shrouded in tales of mischief and ghosts, an irresistible adventure for the four daring friends.
Summoning their courage, they pushed open the creaky mansion doors guided by the flicker of their torchlights. The mansion echoed with the whispering winds carrying ancient stories across the grand staircase.
Ascending bravely, they reached a room filled with broken mirrors, they could see their distorted reflections in the dim light. They were laughing with nervous excitement when suddenly, without any warning, the friends heard a loud ‘CRASH!’
The laughter drained from their faces. In the eerie silence that followed, a shadow emerged from the broken mirrors. Overcoming their fright, they realized the shadow was, in fact, their grouchy old neighbor Mr. Higgins!
In his trembling hands, he held a shattered vase. The supposedly haunted Mansion was his secret hideaway where he collected antiques. That night, they caught him red-handed during his clumsy, moonlit wanderings!
All those ghost stories were the unavoidable result of Mr. Higgins’ nocturnal mishaps! The Mansion wasn’t haunted – it was just flustered by its fumbling nocturnal visitor!
