As the moon gleamed with eerie brightness on Halloween night, little Amy shuddered under her wizard’s hat. She heard hushed whispers swirling round the centuries-old mansion dubbed the “Ghost House,” tempting her with an adventure.
With a heart pounding against her chest, Amy sneaked from her group of trick-or-treaters and walked up to the mansion’s heavy door. It creaked open, almost as if it were expecting her. The house seemed to sigh, its freezing breath raising the hairs on Amy’s nape.
She trudged through cobwebs as thick as cotton candy, and came upon a room filled with phantoms dancing in a bizarre ballet. Suddenly, she felt an invisible hand guiding her towards them. She joined in and found herself swirling and twirling to a rhythm she didn’t know but was already fond of.
As the spectral waltz ended, the ghosts bowed and slid towards her, revealing an enormous jack-o’-lantern at the room’s far end. It rumbled, splitting open to reveal a cascade of candies – the legendary treasure of the ‘Ghost House’!
With a laugh, Amy realized the house wasn’t haunted. It was simply a ghostly gala thrown by ghosts who love meeting people as much as they love guarding treasures. It was the most boo-tiful Halloween of her life!
