Once upon a midnight autumn, The Sullivan family moved into their new home on Hemlock Hill. Right in time for Halloween, the house was a Gothic masterpiece straight out of a Victorian novel: cobwebs, creaking doors, even a resident black cat.
Samuel, the youngest Sullivan, had a cheeky sparkle in his eyes. He loved a good practical joke, and Halloween presented the perfect opportunity. So, he hatched a plan to scare his family with a “fake” ghost on All Hallows’ Eve.
Meanwhile, behind the dusty drapes, movement fluttered. Suddenly, an amiable ghost, Wisp, cursed with invisibility, sighed. He’d spent centuries seeking acknowledgement from the living. Having overheard Samuel’s plot, Wisp saw an opportunity for visibility.
As Samuel sprang his prank, Wisp added some authentic spectral surprises. As the clock struck twelve, chandeliers swayed, floorboards moaned, and ethereal whispers filled the air. The Sullivan’s screams echoed through the house, and a triumphant cheer filled the eerie silence that followed.
Just as Samuel prepared for a victory lap, he found his family clapping not for him, but for the invisible Wisp they thought he’d conjured. “Bravo for the effects, Samuel!” they exclaimed. And just like that, Wisp finally got his dues and Samuel… well, he got more than he bargained for!
In the end, was it really a Halloween prank, or did the prankster himself get tricked? The dead tell no tales, but they do love a good twist!
