Once upon a Halloween night, in the small town of Broomsville, there lived an old woman named Agnes. Known for her grim aura and love for cats, Agnes was the talk of spooky stories amongst kids.
Every Halloween, Agnes sprinkled an unusual pumpkin dust around her house that she claimed kept ghosts at bay. But this year, something went terribly wrong.
As the clock struck midnight, instead of ghosts being repelled, one by one, they began to appear, dancing around Agnes’s house. The townsfolk stood aghast as they witnessed this strange spectacle.
Frightened but determined, Agnes disappeared into her house, reappearing with her biggest black cat, Whiskers. She gently whispered to him and like a dart, Whiskers shot towards the ghosts, cleaning off the dust that made them visible.
As the first light of dawn touched Broomsville, Agnes’s house was clear of ghosts. The townsfolk were surprised and relieved. But the biggest surprise came when the town jester, known for his mischief, confessed to replacing Agnes’s usual pumpkin dust with a ghostly summoning powder as a prank.
From that Halloween onward, the townsfolk learned two things. First, never meddle with Agnes’s Halloween tradition, and second, black cats aren’t just a symbol of bad luck; in Broomsville, they are ghost cleaners!
