“The Mystery of Cobweb Corners: The Haunting of Mrs. Finley”

Leaning against the chipped, black door was old Mrs. Finley, a peculiar lady, living in a weather-beaten mansion at the end of Cobweb Corners. Every Halloween, there were rumors that her house was haunted by a headless horseman. But this year was going to be different.

Young Tommy, eager and brave, decided to uncover the truth. He gathered his pumpkin virtual glasses and his ghost detector watch accepted the challenge. Slowly opening the creaking gate, he heard a gruesome, demented shriek. Shivers ran down his spine, but he ventured on.

Piercing through the ghastly gloom, he climbed the treacherous staircase. Suddenly, his watch started blinking rapidly. There was a ghostly presence indeed! Guided by his glasses, he started following the clues, each hint bringing him closer to the truth.

Finally, he reached a dim-lit room. A shadow loomed from the corner—an eerie figure without a head! The headless horseman!

Wait, but what was that on the floor? A top hat and a scarf? Picking them up, Tommy placed them beside the figure who suddenly sneezed, and a head popped out from the top of the coat. It was Mrs. Finley all along, trying her Halloween costume on.

The mansion was not haunted, after all! Or was it? As Tommy left, he couldn’t help but notice a shadowy horseman trotting closely behind him. The real scare, perhaps, was yet to come.
