Once upon a midnight dreary, in a town that was clearly eerie, there lived an eccentric lady named Miss Hattie. Miss Hattie lived alone in an ancient manor; it’s walls held more secrets than an old pirate’s banner. She had a curious habit of speaking with the unseen, causing the locals whispers, “Surely she’s just makin’ a scene.”
Halloween was upon them and the village got geared. Silly-looking pumpkins and decorative half-pumpkins were everywhere, fake cobwebs and flickering candles weaved through elements that eerily stared. The children were excited, for they knew a curious thing about Miss Hattie. Each Halloween, she presented the tastiest candy, but with a darn spooky setting that left many a lad panting.
However, this Halloween brought real fright. Around midnight, the manor started glowing with a ghastly light. ‘Twas a sight hard to sight. The villagers stumbled out, their hearts filled with fright, gasping as phantoms emerged from the light. Miss Hattie followed behind, her face alight with delight.
The phantoms began to hum, the melody strange and sweet. Then Miss Hattie said, “Scaredy-cats, meet the real stars of Halloween night!” To everyone’s surprise, the phantoms bowed and began… to dance. “Invited some old friends for a wee jig,” Hattie giggled, revealing her surprise Halloween gig! And henceforth, every year, the villagers eagerly awaited the Haunted Halloween Jig!
