There once was a small, quaint town where every Halloween, little Joey, donned his handmade costume, always the most fearsome monster he could imagine. Joey loved nothing more than the thrill he got from the gasps and shrieks he earned with his costumes, and his inventive mind never disappointed.
This particular Halloween, Joey crafted a costume unlike any other, a towering, snarling beast he named “The Clawed Phantom”. With pumpkin shaped but fiery red eyes, sharp, shining fangs, and massive, curved claws, Joey was sure this year’s reactions would be the best yet.
Come Halloween night, Joey thundered down the streets. Houses went dark as he approached, and one by one, doors shut tight. Joey’s heart sank. Had he gone too far this year? He stumbled home in his costume, close to tears, when he saw his scarecrow missing from the garden. A hefty figure moved toward him.
Quaking in his oversized boots, Joey braced for the worst. But it wasn’t a monster that greeted him, it was the entire town, dressed as monsters and ghouls! They all cheered, “Happy Halloween, Joey! You’re not the only monster in town!”
