As the calendar turned to October, the friends, Tom and Jerry, decided to conquer their fears and spend a Halloween night in the deserted and haunted house at the end of their street. Armed with a flashlight and sweets for sustenance, they entered the eerie house. The flickering light from the half moon lit the cobweb-infested house, casting long, monstrous shadows that danced with their movements.
The house creaked ominously, as if whispering secrets of its spooky past. They spent the gloomy hours exploring the ancient rooms. In a dusty upper room, Tom noticed a rusty portrait of a beautiful girl. Her enchanting eyes seemed to possess an uncanny familiarity, following them as they moved.
As midnight approached, there was a sudden coldness. They heard a soft voice humming their favorite childhood tune. A chill ran down their spines. The lights flickered, and the girl in the portrait vanished! Panic-stricken, they rushed down the stairs hoping to escape. But, the door wouldn’t budge!
With hearts pounding, they turned around and gasped. There stood the girl from the portrait, holding a tray of steaming hot cocoa! The ghost was their childhood babysitter. She apologized for scaring them and wished them a Happy Halloween while serving them the cocoa.
