“The Halloween Haunting of Crooked House: A Curious Tale”

Once there was a curious girl named Belinda who lived in the small town of Riddle. Every Halloween, she passed by the Crooked House, a spooky old structure at the edge of town. Rumor had it, it was haunted by a one-eyed witch with a thousand cats.

This Halloween, Belinda decided to visit the Crooked House. With her heart pounding, she scurried up the overgrown path, and hesitantly knocked on the door. To her surprise, it creaked open, revealing a cozy interior. A sweet, elderly woman welcomed her in, offering apple cider and pumpkin cookies. Belinda’s fear slowly evaporated.

Hours later as she was leaving, she thanked the lady, “I’ve heard terrible rumors about this place being haunted by a scary witch. It was nothing like that!” The old lady chuckled, pressing something into Belinda’s hand. “Haunted? No, dear. But legends have to start somewhere.”

Stepping into the chilling night air, Belinda uncurled her fingers to reveal a glass eye. As she stared at it in surprise, she heard the old woman’s laughter echo from the house behind her, “And remember, curiosity tamed the cat!”
